INTERNATIONAL 14th UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE

The 8th Annual UMR Conference was held on March 18th and 19th, 2015, under the leadership of Director Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aman Khan and UMR Society President Mr. Muhammad Salman Qureshi. Remaining committed to its mission of developing “visionary doctors” who are “professionally competent, ethically sound, and effective in communication,” the conference adapted to regional security challenges by focusing on participants from Peshawar Medical College and Peshawar Dental College. 

Despite this scaled scope, the conference maintained its academic rigor through the presentation of 92 research projects. It introduced new initiatives, including research grants for exceptional proposals and clinical short-courses for skill enhancement. Student investigations addressed clinically relevant topics, including elderly depression, anemia among students, dental health, hair loss patterns, non-communicable diseases, and traumatic spinal cord injuries, demonstrating continued engagement with diverse medical challenges across primary care and specialty fields.
